Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known as “Bad Bunny,” released his fifth solo album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana, on Oct. 13, 2023.
The highly anticipated album gained a lot of public speculation after a teaser he posted to his Instagram that revealed his shaved head, reminiscent of the hairstyle he was known for early in his career.
His followers seemed very excited about the upcoming album, commenting, “Don Benito has arrived” and “he cut his hair – 2016 Bad Bunny is back.”
Bad Bunny gained much popularity in 2016 when he was still known as a Latin trap artist. Yet, his albums YHLQMDLG (Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana) and Un Verano Sin Ti launched him into the reggaeton and pop world, leading to his immense success in recent years.
The album release was very successful, reaching number one on Billboard. He then went on to host SNL accompanied by Pedro Pascal, mostly in Spanish.
Many of his fans miss his trap music and were hopeful that this album would reminisce his 2016 persona. The teaser on his Instagram led fans to believe that the new album would consist of trap songs.
The new album features other rappers like Eladio Carrion and YOVNGCHIMI while also having some reggaeton features like Feid. While the album is mostly rap, there are a few reggaeton songs like “Perro Negro” and “Un Preview.”
The public has had a lot of opinions of Bad Bunny’s change in personality after gaining so much success so quickly.
After singing about how much he loves Puerto Rican women in multiple songs, he was called out for being in a relationship with American model Kendall Jenner.
Fans claim that fame has changed him, and he has become like every other celebrity that becomes detached from their fans and changes their whole brand once they gain status.
Bad Bunny answered a lot of this criticism in his new album. Beginning with the track titled “Nadie Sabe” sets the tone for the whole album, with Bad Bunny rapping about his true feelings towards fans, his work, and the future of his career.
Bad Bunny is brutally honest, thanking his real fans and dissing fake fans. Listeners were shocked when the song addressed the fact that he threw a fan's phone, “tu no eres mi fan real, por eso te tiré el celular” which directly translates to “you are not a real fan, that’s why I threw your phone.”
The track Fina, featuring Young Miko addresses his relationship with Kendall Jenner, “se preguntan como nos comunicamos, mejor ni le contamos, dile que de una conectamos” which translates to “they wonder how we communicate, better if we don’t say, tell them we bonded immediately.”
The recent album includes a lot of Bad Bunny’s personal feelings about where he is in his career and he unapologetically tells fans how he feels.
